Hi, it sounds to me like you have the SpeedDownload plugin installed. This allows SpeedDownload to manage your downloads, rather than your browser but in your case either it isn't working or you have deleted it. Hopefully just deleting the plugin will fix things. You can find it either in:

Home Folder:Library: Internet Plugins
Macintosh HD: Library: Internet Plugins
