No, I did not try to boot off the system cd, because there is no power to the iMac at all. nothing. no ring/bong/chime. no sounds of a hard driving starting up. nothing. I hit the power button, and it looks back at me a laughs. no green light, no yellow light, no light at all. It would be the same as if you pulled the power cord out of the back of the computer and tried to start it that way. there is no power at all.

There has been nothing added, either hardware or softwear to this computer in about 3 months, when I got a new printer, so I had to load up the printer drivers. Everything has worked fine, no problems at all. It has been turned off before for a few days when I've been out of town, so it isn't like it hasn't been turned off before.

I guess it could something with the power system going into the computer, but I was hoping it would be something simple, that I could try and fix.

Matt

Did you try to boot off the system CD?

Hey there everyone

Well, my problem is this: I usually keep the iMac on all the time, however there was a problem staying conneted with the internet yesterday, so before going to bed I turned it off. This morning, I hit the power button, the green light lit up, got a quick degauss 'thunk' and then the power light went off. Now I get nothing at all when hitting the power button. I am still using 9.2.2, and have had no problems with it. 1 gig of ram, and haven't installed anything new on it. I've unplugged and plugged back in the power cord. And that is the end of my expertise. What is wrong with my iMac?
