I wanted to try the Firefox browser. After downloading it and unstuffing it, it wouldn't open when I clicked on the icon. When I tried to get rid of it, even trying a force quit from the process viewer, it said I couldn't because it was running. When I tried to shut down, I got the message that I couldn't because Firefox was running. I had to unplug the power cord to get rid of it. I've tried to install a Firefox download several times now, always with the same result. Any idea what is the problem? I running OS X 10.2.8 on a 1 ghz iMac with 768 MB RAM. Thanks.

I ran Firefox a few months back and it seemed a nice little browser. However, I downloaded a more recent version and experienced much the same problem as you describe. with the added "feature" that when I tried to shut down the program, it would continuously restart and shut down by itself until I rebooted. Still a few bugs in the system!
Running 10.3.5 on a B&W G4-450 with 1 GB ram.
