That's what I said! :)
If we're talking about setup using a browser then it doesn't matter,
thats just what they recommend. That said, with my D-Link equipment,
there is a problem that means that Safari isn't a good choice for
configuring it, but checking status is ok, something to do with
JavaScript.
I've had no problems configuring my D-Link (DI-804) router with Safari, 
and that was back when Safari was new.
