I have a powerbook 400mhz Pismo and an iMac DV 400mhz. Is there a benefit to
going with an Apple Airport card vs. another outside card for either of
these machines? I'm running 9.2.2 on both.

Not much benefit that I can see. Both machines have an internal AirPort card slot that's otherwise unused/unusable. A couple of 'g' cards would be a bit faster for machine-to-machine transfers (but not really noticeable for web surfing), but it would mean a PCMCIA card for the Pismo, a USB interface for the iMac, and OS 9 drivers for both.

I tried repeatedly to get on a powerbook list with no luck, so if anyone can
answer regarding the powerbook I'd appreciate it.

Pretty much the same answer either way, so no problem.
