The Brother HL-1440 laser printer has seen better days, too. I need to replace it, and was admiring the output (and this week's price) of the Konica Minolta 1350W at Staples, until I noticed there are no Mac print drivers for it.
Consumer Reports gives the Brother HL-1440 a big thumbs up. I thought the ink seemed somewhat grey compared to other lasers, and just about any inkjet.
Thoughts, suggestions? While a good price is important, a "solid machine" is also a very high priority.
