My wife's Rev. D iMac has been freezing every time I try to install an app. She's still running OS 9.1. I'd bump her to OS 2.2 but then her CD burner won't work anymore (it only works up to OS 9.1)...
I can download an app, etc., but when I hit the final "install" button, her computer freezes every time...
I gave up trying to fix this last August, and saved everything she wanted to keep and reinstalled the OS. I still have the old System Folder (I didn't do a clean install). Unfortunately, the freezed problem persists.
I ordered Conflict Catcher but it still hasn't shipped. Wish I'd bought it when C&G were still in business. Sigh.
Eddie, Go to Control Panels> Extension Manager and select "Mac OS 9 All" (or something like that), restart and try to install the apps. If that doesn't work, go back to Extension Manager and select the Mac OS 9 Base set. Restart and again try to install the apps.
