I have Panther and 9.2.2 on both of my Macs (600 MHz iMac and 400MHz G4 tower), and am only using about 10GB on the iMac (with photos and music) and 5GB on the G4 (photos and misc files, no music), so I haven't been tempted to upgrade the HD on either.
If you are going to go to the bother I suggest you upgrade your hard drive first. OSX and OS9 will be very chummy on only 13 gigs !!
