I have a 20 1.25 GHz G4 iMac that I bought with AppleCare in February. Occasionally when I put it to sleep it makes a very high-pitched whining sound that is not very loud but is loud enough to drive me crazy if I am in the same room with it (it is only loud enough to hear if theres no other noise in the room, which is often, since I live on a cul-de-sac). I cannot locate exactly where it is coming from, but I think it is the base rather than the screen. I just know if I take it to my local Apple authorized repairman that it will not be making the noise that day, since it only happens around 20% of the time it is asleep. Has this been a common issue with this model? Is there any easy fix?
