I recently installed a 4 ports USB HUB ( snip ) to my iMac top USB port ( snip ).Keyboard is >on the bottom port. Of course I meant the iMac bottom USB port. Sorry for my FrenchGlish... And as I said, with this set up, the power on button from the keyboard is dead. JCT
From: "Dennis B. Swaney" I've had similar issues vis-a-vis the top/bottom USB ports on my Rev. B iMac. The best explanation goes like this: The top port is a "master" port and has priority over the bottom port regarding voltage, signal strength, etc. My keyboard is plugged into the TOP port and my POWERED hub is plugged into the LEFT USB port on the keyboard. -- Sincerely, Dennis B. Well I change the keyboard from bottom to top USB port and put the hub in the bottom port on the iMac. And the keyboard power button is still dead. I will try putting the hub on the USB port on the keyboard but it seems odd to me. What is the iMac bottom port good for?
If the top is the master, when the keyboard is plugged there I would expect the iMac to react to the power button being pushed?
