well put, chas. i think everything you say here is absolootly true.

i wrote steve a few years ago, a quick compliment about the service I got on some issue, and he responded with a brief 'thanks'.

but...does anyone know Steve Jobs email address, or where i could find
it?

I'll be happy to share it with you, but first you have to read this small lecture.

Steve Jobs is a really busy guy. He does not have time to respond to most of what is sent to him. NEVER expect a reply.

He does not want to hear your complaints that could be resolved elsewhere. He does not need any more "get well" or "thank you" cards. He will not send you a free Mac because yours is having problems. He cannot legally accept your "brilliant" ideas about Apple products/marketing/ruling the world. Your email will be screened by staff who will discard it if its redundant/stupid/useless/wrong person/etc.

If you can think of something to write to him that GENUINELY could not be better handled by another person at Apple, or have something to offer him that he can legally accept, and can keep it SHORT AND TO THE POINT (I cannot stress this enough -- Steve Jobs does NOT suffer fools or timewasters gladly!) you can write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Yes, I have written him on some matters in the past, and yes, I've gotten replies directly from Steve (which are incredibly short and to the point). Again, I warn you that if you waste his time once, you'll never get another opportunity -- so think long and hard about what you're going to say and whether you REALLY need to send it to him first.
