Of course they are not free.  As for Gratis Internet, they get a bounty 
from the company for having you sign up for an offer.   I have not 
received any calls, mail or spam since signing up for the free ipod two 
months ago.  The offer I chose was Blockbuster home rentals, which I 
was going to do anyway.
