Get File Sharing working between the 2 Macs. Put everything into folders and rename the new computer's folders so there are no conflicting names. Before going to bed, drag all the folders from the old computer's hard drive to the new computer's hard drive. Several hours later, disconnect, use the Startup Disk control panel to switch the active System Folder, and restart. Aliases will work best if the new computer's hard drive gets the same name, e.g. "Macintosh HD". Find File can locate all the aliases for you. If you are a perfectionist, show each alias in the Finder, and get rid of it, or click once and use Command-R to update it.
