I wish I had thought of that! My iMac drive had long since given up its ability to properly eject. It tried its little motor out, but the rollers just didn't grip enough any more. I used a pair of tweezers one day when the disc wasn't coming far enough out to grab with my finger tips... and they ripped the heck out of the CD coating, rendering the CD useless. It was at that point that I ripped the decorative color trim off my iMac to give me better finger access. And either the lack of trim reduced the dust screen friction enough, or the iMac is afraid of what else I may rip off in anger... since then the eject appears to work almost correctly (it still slips a bit, but now it will get the CD far enough out that the iMac knows it has been ejected and doesn't give up and try to pull it back in). -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
