I second that motion. :)

Chris,
Thanks for the advice. I think I will be set now on the burner
(although I am not sure what connection type I need...firewire, USB 2.0,
etc).

You don't have USB2 so forget that.

And, whets the difference in DVD-R and dual layer? =20

Vast difference. Just stick with the 4.7GB DVD-R (not +R) blanks and don't worry about it.

Finally, I am running OS 9.2.2

Okay, forget everything I said in my post above and listen to this:

FORGET THIS.

You're never going to get this to work to the point where it's worth the effort. I doubt that it's possible at all.

There might possibly be an obsolete version of Toast (maybe 5.x?) that will recognise the burner and let you burn data DVDs, and that's great for backup purposes. But trying to make video DVDs as you say you want to on a Rev. B is like trying to ride cross-country on a unicycle. I can't say it's utterly impossible, but it IS utterly pointless.

You'll waste WAY more than $500 worth of time and effort and end up with nothing. There's a REASON why recent versions of iLife's video stuff won't run on that machine.

Buy an eMac or a Mac mini. Life is WAY too short to attempt what you want to do on that equipment.
