On Vacuum cleaners,

I have been worn that vacuum cleaner CAN rapidly built up enough of a static charge the burn out sensitive chips.

Canned air or dust off, etc. don't generate static. And so they are preferred.

Have said that, I've used a vacuum in side the case, but away from circuit boards.

What a coincidence! I took apart one of my imacs today to replace the
battery and I used (carefully) the vacuum cleaner with the plastic crevice
tool with no harm. I can totally empathize with you as I have six cats (yes
I'm crazy and one is a kitten who is prone to these type of incidents and is
klutzy).

Good Luck!
