I am having a problem either sending PDF's originated on my iBook under OSX or forwarding PDF files.
Nobody can open the PDF files! Thinking the problem was a one-off forwarded a PDF received from somebody else to a third party. The originating PDF came from a Macintosh computer and ended up on my computer just fine. I forwarded the PDF to a friend; this was the reply! "It may open on yours but not mine. There is something odd on that file. It ends as pdf.stx which is not a normal PDF. The bottom line--- I can't open it!" OH and I think the problem may be my e-mail which is PowerMail: When I send an attachment I have the following choices for encoding Smart (auto-detect) Stuffit Mac OS10 or OS 9 or No compression Apple Double (all) BinHex (Mac) Base 64 (Windows) UUencode (Unix) Now my questions is how do I cover all the bases? Some people use Microsoft, some are Linux, some are Mac all different systems and PDF's should in theory open under all three. Have been sending PDF's out as Smart, it doesn't work, nor does Apple Double. I trashed the preferences for my e-mail program and still problems. Any ideas?
