says "print text in black" for when the document is color but the

to print grayscale/B&W (most sophisticated print programs do), of
course the Epson would honour this.
Chas, I have been all through every dialog and option, and in my
installation there appears to be no way to choose black ink for the 740
with the OS X drivers. It will happily print grayscale documents, but it
does so by using the color ink to make black and gray (as I confirmed one
day when I was running low on a color and the grayscale came out blue).
If anyone can tell me exactly where in what option or dialog one can choose
black ink for the 740 with the X drivers, I will be very happy.
