the apple store online http://tinyurl.com/4c9q has refurbished macs all the time with free shipping. Go to the SAVE link on the right of the page. The list is updated daily, I think at 7am west coast time. The iBook is heavier than the powerbook, the case more durable, it's cheaper and the superdrive is not available with the 12" model. You can compare the two at this same website. Not all the refurbished come with the airport card, so read the specs on each one. If you don't see what you want, check the next day. A 1.33 GHz with a combo drive is going for $900 today and $1000 for one with a superdrive. My biggest complaint about my iBook, is the letters on the keys started wearing off after one month of use, and continue to do so. An Apple rep at Comp USA told me to learn to type by touch. I don't know what's inside the eMac but assuming it's got a USB port, you can use a wireless USB network adapter to access a wireless router. I use the wireless G from Belkin for my iMac.

Hi

I have an eMac at present which has served me very well and is still going strong. I was thinking of purchasing a used iBook or PowerBook so I could use it
on the road or anywhere with WiFi access.

Firstly, iBook or PowerBook? is the only difference that the PowerBook has card
slots and the iBook doesn't?

Secondly, what sort of price would I get for my eMac. It has been upgraded. 1Ghz processor, 768MB RAM, Pioneer 109 DVDRW and 80GB HD. Currently running 10.4.3.

Thirdly, if I decide to keep my eMac what wireless options do I have.

If I was to buy a Apple laptop I would want one with at least 1Ghz processor the
rest is upgradeable at a later date.

--- The box said "Requires Windows 2000, or better" so I bought an Apple Mac.
