You can get an Ethernet -> Wireless bridge device, however, there are
sometimes issues with getting those to work correctly with a wireless
router. Older units would only talk to another bridge and not to a router.

Some newer models of each can talk to each, enabling you to use one with
a computer just the way you want (plug the computer's RJ45 ethernet into
the bridge, and the bridge talks to your router/access point wirelessly).

If you have a router or access point that doesn't prohibit this, then you
can look into getting a bridge that supports it. However, you will likely
find they will be around the same $40 (or more) that the USB dongle
costs. If your router/access point doesn't allow a bridge client (most
shouldn't notice with the newer bridges, they *should* appear as a
regular wireless client... if you have an older router/access point, just
do a quick check to be sure bridge clients don't NOT work), then you
would need two bridges, one for each side (one plugs into the router as a
wired network device, with the other into your iMac). Obviously, that
would double the cost of the install. Although with today's router
prices, it would probably be cheaper to replace the router with a new
one, then to buy two bridges (wireless routers are often on sale or have
rebates putting them at a lower price then a bridge, so one bridge plus
one new router would cost less than two bridges)
