Can anyone reccommend a good, free converter that will turn the
modern
iTunes format (AAC?, m4a?, mp4?) into plain ol' MP3's so I can get
them
readable by the player that The Mule runs (Audion)?
yup. there's a very good one called itunes ;D
go into your itunes preferences, click advanced, click importing,
choose mp3 encoder (and make sure you adjust the quality to what
you want) and click ok.
then, select all the songs you want to convert and go to the
advanced menu and choose convert selection to mp3.
hopefully those are the exact directions, i was going off the top
of my head.
oh forgot to mention, when it converts the songs, you will end up
having both files in your library. the easy way to get rid of the
modern formatted ones is to not touch anything while it converts, and
when its done, your modern ones will still be selected, and the mp3s
will not. then just press delete to get rid of the modern ones.
