After installing the latest version of QuickTime 7.5.5, the Finder now
disappears about every 15-30 seconds. I tried closing all the open windows,
but they all came back on the next cycling of the Finder. It keeps losing
any changes. Trashed the Finder prefs file. No change. Repaired
permissions. Still no change. This is very annoying, as it keeps bringing
the finder to the front, right in the middle of whatever I'm doing. Haven't
had any major issues with this OS for years...

Now what?

OS 10.4.11, Snow G3 PowerPC iMac, 500 MHz, 384 MB RAM.
