I'm wondering if you can help with this. It's not urgent, just
particularly annoying.

I've noticed that my iMac (Intel, Aluminum, 2.4GHz, 1GB RAM, 320GB
HDD) makes an annoying high-pitched whine sometimes. It also makes
digital "bipping" sounds after increasing/decreasing the volume using
the volume keys. The whining can only be heard when the computer is
not making any sound, and sometimes, making the computer make a sound
causes the annoying noise to stop. I can only hear the sound with
headphones on, and it doesn't seem to happen unless Final Cut Pro 5 is
open. I've tested the headphones on other computers, and there's no
annoying noise. I'm guessing right now that it's FCP, but I've never
heard of such an issue.

Any ideas?

Isaac
