Hello iMac list, I recently acquired a G3 Indigo with 10.2 installed. As I had the 10.3 install disk for this machine, I archive installed that. Before I set up a little network, I thought to upgrade to 10.3.9, so I unplugged the cable modem from the G5, connected it to the G3, set up auto location and ethernet settings and hit software update. Message showed an error occurred. Went back to ethernet settings and small print showed that ip address was self-assigned and might not get online, so I copied all the relevant numbers from the G5, but still not getting online. Network preferences shows ethernet connected and ready. Setup assistant doesn't help. Been playing with this for 3 days and can't get online to upgrade. What am I missing?
Sorry for being so wordy, but I wanted to get all the pertinent details.
