Laura, I have run into similar problems on my eMac 1.25 GHz. I have found that playing the video through QuickTime rather than iTunes decreases the cpu usage. You can find the file by right-clicking on it in iTunes and selecting "Show in Finder". Then right click on the file in Finder and select "Open With" > "QuickTime".
