Lowendmac.com also keeps tracker of Mac models, as doesv the program "mactracher". But ifv you simply go into System Information and send details to this site, pretty much all of us can tell you if it's 2008. I'd expect a 2.14+ GHz Intel Core 2 duo processor with 2gb RAM inherent and at least 120gb of HD to think that it's a 2008 iMac. But serial numbers and model numbers, found in Apple System Info, under "About This Mac" and "More Info" will tell you, and us, everything.
