There is a difference between brands of flash drives, but finding hard
data for comparison is close to impossible. Since G3 iMacs support
only USB 1.1, any brand will do. Be aware that writing to a USB drive
is excruciatingly slow over USB 1.1.

I have had good luck with Microcenter's [ www.microcenter.com ] house
brand. They carry a bunch of sizes, and will sell you a decent 8GB
drive for only $14.99, which is a whole lot better deal than you'll
find at your local office supply store.

If you want serious capacity, forget flash and go for a portable hard
drive.
