Apple borked many older drivers with the introduction of 10.5.. my
Laserjet 4 was one of them. I ended up using older drivers. try
printing with the 'generic postscript' driver. If that works then it's
a driver issue, if not, it's something else, like Appletalk not turned
on or something else with the printer setup on the MB.

If it works, try copying the ppd from a working 10.4 system to the MB,
they're in :

/System/Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources

Delete the existing printer on the MB. then go into that directory ON
THE MACBOOK and rename the file 'LaserWriter 16_600 PS.gz' to
something like 'LaserWriter 16_600 PS.gz.10.5'.

You will be prompted for your admin password, and bugged about
changing the file ending.

NOw copy that file from a working system to that folder on the MB.

Restart, and re-add the printer.

This might work.

If not you can always drop the printer again, delete the 10.4 version
and rename the 10.5 version back to get back to where you started.

But it should work just fine...the ps 16_600 was about as bog-standard
a network PS2 printer that existed, with a very robust built-in print
server. They're great printers.
