I have a iMac G3, 350 mhz, slot-loading machine with 576 MB SDRAM (I added to the 64 MB that it came with). It's running with OS 9.0.4, which it came with. My question is: can I install Panther 10.3.9 (which I understand is best for this machine) directly, or do I first need to load OS 10.0?
I also read that in order to update to 10.3 or later on this machine, it's necessary to first install Firmware 4.1.9. But to install this, it's necessary to have OS 9.1 or later. Also, if it is indeed possible to install 10.3.9 directly from 9.0.4, is there a place where I can get Panther cheaper than Ebay or Amazon? Thanks very much for your help! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to Low End Mac's iMac List, a group for those using G3, G4, G5, and Intel Core iMacs as well as Apple eMacs.
