Yesterday after I shut down my 20" iMac, the minitor still stay on. Only the background picture was there, all the desktop items were not shown. The only way I can think of was unplug the power cord.
After waiting for two minutes or so, I plugged back the power cord and turned on the iMac again, ran Disk Utility with OK result, then I shut it down and this time, the iMac shut down completely. This happened once last month.
