This is puzzling because I owned an old IOmega USB 4x CDRW, one of the  
old purple monsters.

All I had to do was load the USB extensions on my 7600 when I added in  
the USB card. This was with OS 8.6. If the USB ports are present at OS  
install (as they are on an iMac) the USB drivers get installed; you  
only have to add them later if you add a USB controller.

Iomega had a CD with a OEM version of Toast, but since I was using  
Apple's own authoring stuff I never loaded it.
