why not go to eBay and get a drive for it?
you can get one for $10-$20 incl shipping

also
you can grab a standard ide cable from any desktop and a standard
power cable splitter, run those out the vacant drive opening and plug
in ANY atapi/ata device
it will be on an internal bus, so you will have speed as well as compatibility
the hdd in the imac is on a single drive cable, but the controller is
standard ata and will support two devices, so swap the cable and add a
drive

no it aint purdy, but it works
