Yeah. OS 9 is pretty damn zippy with 1Gig. Thought to be honest, I
haven't noticed a terribly big difference between now and when I had
394 megs. The biggest shock is that OS 9 will look at you like you're
stupid if you want to run VM. It also barely touches the hard drive
ever. I've also heard suggestions that I can make OS 9 screem if I
load the entire System folder into a RAM disk.
It doesn't help multimedia performce unfortunately, so I'm still going
to bottleneck in terms of heavy video and the like. Tiger is now
within my reach if I get a bigger HD and a DVD drive. I'm considering
using Panther as an intermediate step though.
