Ask yourself these questions:

1. Do I use "Classic" OS applications?

If No, then get the G5 (and don't worry about it)
If Yes, go to #2

2. Are there OS X versions of the "Classic" applications?

If Yes, get the G5
If No, go to #3

3. Are there OS X applications that can substitute for the "Classic"
applications?

If Yes, get the G5
If No, go to #4

4. Do I REALLY need the "Classic" application(s)?
If No, get the G5
If Yes, get the G5 but run Mac OS 10.4.8 (Tiger) instead of Leopard.
Alternately, also get a G4 that can boot up into Mac OS 9 and run
Leopard on the G5.
