The correct and latest firmware version for that iMac will be something like 
4.1.9.f1. If you're running OS X, then it probably already has it as that 
version of firmware is required for satisfactory video operation. If perchance 
your firmware is 3.xxx something, the only way you can update it is to install 
OS 9.x and run Software Update from Control Panels. The firmware update cannot 
be installed from OS X.
