In OS X 10.3, click on the Apple icon in upper left corner, select About This Mac, then More Information, then look for the Boot ROM Version information in the System Profiler's Hardware Overview screen. Anything less than 4.1.9f1 should be updated while running OS 9 through Control Panel>Software Update.
