I'm looking at some used iMac G5 models with the 17 and 20 inch screens.
The processor versions include the 1.6, 1.8, 2.0, 1.9 and 2.1 Ghz.
Any suggestions and comments are welcome from those who own or have

I have the 2 ghz 20" G5 without the isight camera. It was a retirement
present to myself. I set it up and running in late May '05.
In Aug 06 the logic board failed, and I had it replaced under AppleCare.
In Feb 07 the power supply failed, and again AppleCare was my saviour.
It's an OK machine, but 5 years on, it' starting to show its age. The
hard drive is starting to be noisy, and I miss the isight, which I have
on my Macbook.
Interestingly, I paid $2400 Cdn educational price for mine and I noticed
Apple Canada's refurbished site is offering a 20" intel model which is
faster, has the camera, bigger hard drive etc. for $949 Cdn. Oh, well,
I've had 5 reasonably good service out of it. I have the model which
allows the user to service just about every part except the modem, so
when the hard drive fails, I might take a shot at replacing it myself.
I've done it on a clamshell iBook, so how hard can it be?
Best of luck.
