Hmmm, a promising idea, but honestly I'd have no idea where to
begin. I've looked at the FreeBSD manual online, but it has little
to say about PPC install. Such has been my history attempting linux
and bsd. I never seem to have a matching combo of manual-hardware-os.
Perhaps a better question to ask is *why* do you want to install these
OS'es? If there are specific Linux programs you wish to use, look
carefully...many have OSX ports already, or can be installed with
something like MacPorts:

If your object is to learn to use a Linux GUI like Gnome or KDE, just
get a cheapo used PC somewhere for 50 bucks and use it...you'll have
fewer hardware incompatibilities.
If your object is to learn server technologies, again, getting a PC
will do you a lot better in this regard.
If you want to learn more about the Unix command line and mess with
things like that, well, just go to Applications/Utilities and run
Terminal..
