Firewire 800 is pretty fast, twice as fast as USB 2.0 which that system has. If you want to you can installer a larger internal hard drive pretty easily. If I remember correctly you just have to remove 2 screws on the bottom of the screen and the entire back comes off and on the right should be the hard drive.
