...sorry, do you mean did I reset the PRAM (cmd+shft+R)?

- I couldn't -the Mac didn't want to start any more!

I removed the new memory to put it back as it was and it still didnt want 
to work, so I set it aside for the moment - I wasnt prepared for that 
problem. I have upgraded most of my Macs in the past but never had this 
happen. Somehow the Memory units seem to have stuffed the Mac.

Any thoughts that might provide a way forward?
