If you know how to do what you want in batch with xcopy you can probably work 
your way thru the same thing in OS X's terminal and write a Bash shell script 
to do the same thing. Use "cp" instead of xcopy, but the concept is really the 
same.

Once you can get a shell script working you can either set it to run 
automatically at some interval using Cron, or you can use AppleScript to issue 
a "do shell script" to run it (or Automator, or a few other options to either 
run shell commands or run an existing shell script that will allow you to wrap 
it into a double clickable icon).
