I want to write my own script, if just to prove I am still a ‘programmer’ but 
expedience will take over for the moment, I downloaded SuperDuper and the free 
version looks like it will do what I need. I will try it tonight on ‘Smart 
Update’ so it will just copy over the updated files…

Thanks for the advice, maybe one day I will sit down and write up my little 
script then maybe another day I will stop being ‘old school’ and move up to 
Time Machine. I’m just used to having a bootable backup as I have always worked 
with old computers, prone to failure and like the slight bit of extra security.

I still would like to work on an ‘open source’ version of the OS X interface to 
work over Darwin, I dunno, just because. From the days of the Commodore PET I 
always wanted to be involved in writing my own OS…
