I am totally an HP User - we actually have 3 here now (even when I lend one
to a daughter it came back complete and still working!)

Otherwise my other half and I each have HPs with scanners built in and both
are on our network as well as wifi, so I can print on hers (Photosmart
2570) or mine (Photosmart 5520) and from her iMac on my gaggle of
macs&MCBPs plus my iPhone. Neither of the printers are less than 4 years
old and havent missed a beat!

I just bought a new set of inks for mine and 2 new black cartridges for
hers and on past experienece they will last a year.
