Question/Problem: I am trying to figure out how a list owner is supposed to moderate a list. Answer/Solution: On the Security tab in (for your list in IMail Administrator | localhost | your-domain | Lists) you can set who can post to the list -- anyone, members (of the list) only, or the moderator only. If the list is set to moderator only then only the list owner (who is the Moderator) can send mail out to the list. When anyone else sends to the list only the Moderator will get the message. If the Moderator chooses to forward a message to the list, then he (or she) has approved it. If you, as List Owner/Moderator, approve of a message then you will send it to the list yourself. (Only messages from you can get to the list.) See also: IMail - Control who can post to a list server list | ||

Please
help!
I need to
setup moderated lists that allow all subscribers send to the list, but have
the moderator APPROVE the message & redirect it out to the list
subscribers.
I checked the
Ipswitch KB and found the message below, which doesn't help since the
"moderator" is basically forwarding the message to a mailing list,
rather than truly moderating the list. I need the email to
broadcast as if the original sender is sending it once the moderator actually
"approves" the message via a command or something.
Has anyone found a
way to work around this issue?
Many thanks in
advance,
yby
