Joe,
    Mail DNS needs:

A Record
like:  mail xxx.xxx.xxx.21
(host name) (IP address)

MX Record
like:  domain.com 10 mail.domain.com.
(Mail domain [can include a host name]) (priority) (fully qualified host to
send mail to)
optional: domain.com 20 othermailserver.domain.com
(a backup mail server record with a lower priority #)

both A and MX records should be in the same zone or domain record set.

Hope that helps!
(:->)
