I read about this also as well as got a heads up from
one of the MS Security team. However there is not
much else available at the moment that tells us what
we should look for.
Just got an e-mail back from Symantec with their standard
disclaimer that it is considered a hoax until evidence proves
otherwise.
I just posted a warning on our web site and let it go at that.

Subject: [IMail Forum] FW: new Trojan ???
Got this from an NT list. The MS links verify it, but I can't find any
information on (www.sarc.com www.mcaffee.com) the content of the actual
message so I can block it - anybody have any info?

I just received this and maybe you guys are interested ...

I've just received the following from a friend at Microsoft so be careful,
this is currently all I know so please don't mail for more details, when I
know more I'll let you know.
"Heads up that we have a potential Trojan Horse email attachment going
around. The mail appears to come from an SVP at Microsoft and says that an
attached file will test and fix your Win9x installation. This is not true.
Microsoft does not distribute software updates to customers in this manner.
If you have customers that receive this email, please confirm to them that
this is not from Microsoft. Their safest course of action is not to run
the attached file, and to delete the email."
See

for more information.
Cheers,
John
