Hi,
this might sound like a strange question, but does anyone know how to set up
the ODBC driver for Oracle8 in such a way so that no password will be
necessary so that IMAIL can authenticate a user trying to log on?
I used to use IMAIL with Access97 through ODBC, now I am playing around with
Oracle and this is the problem that I have had for the last 3 hours or so.
SHould I somehow add a password parameter to the registry in the ODBC.INI
section (if so thern under what string value?), or should this be done in
TNSNAMES.ORA file instead?
I have tried someone's suggestion to access the IMAIL mail through a two
step process: Link an Access database to the Oracle8 database, and then
access the user table from IMAIL to the Access97 file (which is linked to
Oralce).
This solution however is not clean, and besides I cant get it to work (logon
denied).
thanks,
Marcin
