I run WS Pro 2.3.15/iHTML on NT Server 4.0. I just upgraded that machine to SP5
on the weekend. All seems to have gone well, everything appears to work. I'm now
wondering whether I should follow the advice that was given in this list
earlier, using clsidview.exe to remove all odbc/mdac stuff then install the
newest mdac kit...or did SP 5 upgrade the odbc drivers sufficiently for me to
ignore that whole uninstall/install issue?
While I'm issuing an SOS, I do have one small hiccup from the SP5 install. The
event log now shows the following error:
DCOM got error "The specified service is disabled and cannot be started. "
attempting to start the service IISADMIN with arguments "" in order to run the
server:
{A9E69610-B80D-11D0-B9B9-00A0C922E750}
I don't use IIS at all, it is completely disabled on the machine, but it is
installed. How do I stop whatever is trying to start IISADMIN?
TIA,
Doug
