No can do!
Those of us running IIS4 and Imail are doing so by having IMail on port
other than 80.
IMail has its own embedded web browser and does not use host headers or
co-exist with any other webserver.
Remember, the following must be "unique" for virtual hosted webservers: host
headers + ip address + port.
Since IMail doesn't support host headers, it must be on a unique IP address
+ port, hence, it is usually run on port 8383.

I've seen many threads in here asking how to set up IMail with IIS4 and
while many say yes, it can be done, I haven't actually seen anyone say what
the routine is. I have IMail set up and working properly on the same IP as
the websites and attempted to take it a step further by setting up a web
site in the MMC using host headers. I'm running into some problems, if I
create a web directory under the "user" folder when it loads it doesn't
detect the mail server name, and when submitting a login attempt it fails to
find any of the cgi files. What I'm trying to accomplish here is, 1) not
need a port assignment for webmail because some of my clients work for
organizations where everything other than port 80 is blocked at the
firewall, and two have a unique user interface for each client. I do not
have enough IP's to give every client an IP for web and another for mail.
What am I missing here, it sounds like there are a number of you who have
figured this out, but I'm obviously missing something.

The only problem you might find is that iMail and the SMTP module is set
to the same port (25). You can change that though in the SMTP module. If
not it will not start...
