Just to add my $.50
Because you can do a thing does not follow that you should do a thing.
Given the nature (ahem reliability) of NT and other inherited products, our
experience has shown that the best option is to install NT on a 2GB
partition at the bottom of a drive, and then put all data & configured
applications on a larger partition elsewhere. The reason we do this is
because if it becomes necessary to re-install NT, and by extension to
re-format it's drive, you only have to work with the smaller partition and
you can have the system up and running again in a short time... all of your
critical data is elsewhere in it's own partition.

Also, the 2GB figure is thus: it's large enough for all the swap/temp space
you'll ever need, plus space for all those applications and utilities that
misbehave if they're not installed on the "root" drive... and it's small
enough to mirror on another drive without costing you both the arm and the
leg.

This configuration has worked _very_ well for us and we recommend it highly.
